Björk Gudmundsdottir was born the 21 of November of 1965 in Reykjavik, Iceland, in a hippy family and which her parents directed her steps to extract the artistic talent of their child. For six years she learned solfeo and to touch flauta and the piano, besides to interpret Icelandic traditional songs. She recorded his first disc, with these classic subjects of her country. In 1986 Björk, next to friends, a group of pop creates, the ' Sugarcubes', with which it recorded two discs. That same year of 1986, she had her first son. In 1990 it sends a disc of Icelandic jazz, titleholder ' Gling Gló and next it began to be interested in music dances. In 1992 it published a new album with the Sugarcubes, titleholder "It's It", who represented the last work of the group before his dissolution. In 1993 Debut began its race in solitaire with the album ' '. In spite of the exotismo that represented Icelandic music in the rest of Europe, they were sold more than 2 million copies and gained numerous prizes of the granted ones by the MTV by its video "Human Behavior", besides to obtain a nomination in grammy of that year.
