Hayseed Dixie

Hayseed Dixie

Blue Grass / Metal

With covers ranging from AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," Led Zepplin's "Whole Lotta Love," Green Day's "Holiday" and a version of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" in their live set, Hayseed Dixie have become a surprising hit across Britain, selling out over 60 shows in the past year and leading them to the recent Glastonbury Festival, where they took the stage right before "those Coldplay guys" and played in front of a startled mainstream audience on BBC TV. Sadly for Chris Martin, Coldplay songs are unlikely to make it into their repertoire, which stretches from Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" to Franz Ferdinand's "The Fire." After all, Hayseed Dixie is nothing if not consistent. And for them, all good songs have these four elements… "drinking, cheating, killing and hell."
