7 Adventure Time Dreams Of Water Themes Plug Research | 2003 | Album Biography Comments (0) Read Full Page Digg Review Add del.icio.us   Adventure Time is brainchild of djs Daedelus and Frosty.They create perfect Plug Research music."Dreams Of Water Themes" consists of thirteen tracks-most of which are instrumentals.I would probably categorize their music as jazz/funk/chill with an interesting sense of humor.There are vocal samples from Billie Holiday,Lee "Scratch" Perry,Art Linkletter and James Mason.Quite a diverse group to sample from.Some of the songs have a water theme-hence the cd title.An interesting effort. "Whetting Whistles" is one of the few songs with vocals.This is a nice piece of funk with rapping by Pigeon John.The oriental sounding flute is quite fun."Water Signs" is a tasty funk instrumental.This could be the theme for an inner city cop movie. "Sent From Sandy Shores" has a voice over by Saul Williams and backing vocals by Sacajawea.This one seemed like someone reading from a self help book with music in the background.Not my favorite track.The cd ends with "Rusty Anchors Wrestling Waves".This track is a nice long ambient piece mixing the sound of a sailing ship with hip hop beats followed by some arabic sounding music.A nice close to a fine cd. I would recommend "Dreams of Water Themes" to those interested in eclectic electronica.The aren't any pop tunes in this collection.Adventure Time mix jazz, funk and some cut'n paste to create some diverse music.Another fine addition to the Plug Research family of artists.
