Dntel (AKA Jimmy Tamborello) release's his third album 'Life Is Full of Possibilities,' enlisting members of Beachwood Sparks, That Dog, and Death Cab for Cutie, on vocal duties, using a syth vocal treatment blending them into the mix.

The opening track 'Umbrella,' starts with vocalist Gunst of Beachwood Sparks, singing 'You can turn the city upside down if you want to/ But it won't keep you dry,' accompanied by an organic organ and delicate drum machine beats.

'Anywhere Anyone,' a track which features L.A. performance poet and singer/songwriter Mia Doi Todd. Mia exclaims 'How can you love me if you don't love yourself,' as Tamborello paints the lush key arrangements filled with gentle bells.

Tracks, 'Pillowcase' which has enough ambience to fill a metal asylum and 'Fear of Corners,' which crackles and glides in an Autechre-eque fashion are a bit slow.

The seven minute 'Why I'm So Unhappy' enlists That Dog bassist, Rachel Haden on the vocals accompanied by gentle drums and a noodling guitar hook.

The most excitng track on the album is the distorted and upbeat '(This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan.' which enlists vocals by Benjamin Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. With distorted drums and The Chameleons stapled spining wind toy sound which can be bought at Science stores in strip malls, gently swirling umoungst the sparatic drum beats and Bens trademarked vocal rantings in which he repeated sings 'Until the telephone started ringing, ringing, ringing off.' until the distortion gets thick it dies in it's own fuzz.

The album comes to close with an instrumental 'Last Songs,' which is composed with aucoutic guitar, skipping keys, warm strings and a start and stop beat.

Tamborello has crafted an ambient mesh of strange an unique IDM tunes, which 'Life Is Full of Possibilities' will hold a long lasting place holder for music to come.

I recommend this one to be played extremly loud with a handful of Disco Biscuits to be completly enjoyed.
