Earlimart have returned with their second full-length Treble and Tremble in triumphant fashion. This steady fuzzed out gem is 14 tracks of textured beauty crossed with an ode to lead singer/chief Aaron Espinoza’s departed pal Elliott Smith. Honed at the bands facility The Ship in Eagle Rock, it’s a ride through Central California with the top down on a winter night, stars illuminated and the smell of sage in the air.

The comparison we will get out of the way. Sure, the band sound like a cross between Grandaddy and Sparklehorse but that is as far it will go. Earlimart continues to gorge their own grounds and part of that is the home and community they have formed in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. It is here the band has teamed with members from their respective hometowns providing this collective to aid in the further development of each others art. Bass Player Anna Murray also has the band Panty Lions while Espinoza produces bands in the studio like Pine Marten, Silversun Pickups and Grandaddy.
Stand out tracks on this CD are “Heaven Adores You”, “Broke the Furniture” and “The Hidden Track”. They aren’t really stand alone tracks though, the album is a cohesive blend of all tracks into one lush California landscape, think of it as Beach Boy’s of the 04’s. Bonus track on iTunes called “Self Preservation Society” is yours with the purchase of entire album.
