6 Guther I Know You Know Morr Music | 2003 | Album Biography Comments (0) Read Full Page Digg Review Add del.icio.us   Guther is a duo consisting of Julia Guther and Berend Intelmann.They recorded most of "I Know You Know" in a Berlin apartment. The cd has the intimate feel of demo recordings. Most of the drums have a simple programmed feel about them. Julia's voice seems to whisper the lyrics in your ear. The songs have a light, airy feel about them. The disc starts with "The Other Day". It is a fine example of Guther's style. Nice simple drumbeat- strong bass line-thoughtful lyrics with accents of simple guitar and keyboard. Julia Guther sings in English- but with a heavy German accent. Sort of like a young sounding Nico. Other standout tracks are "Taglieben" and "Complaint". I particularly liked the percussion sounds on "Complaint". Julia Guther describes her music as "girl's music"- and I can see why. This is not aggressive music of Hole. The drumming is very clean. The instrumentation is not wild in any way. No feedback here. Guther's music is somewhere between rock,pop and folk."I Know You Know" is a very interesting and different cd. My only complaint is that no one song stood out from all the others. An interesting cd.
