There is just something about bands now a day with “The” in the beginning. I love “The” they just have this raw rocking and unprocessed feel to them. I love The Strokes, The Vines, The Hives, The White Stripes, The Impossibles, and now The International Noise Conspiracy. Its really a prize when a band drops an EP out for its fans just because they now they have been lacking off or just been to busy touring. “Bigger Cages, Longer Chains” is a great sample of the bands style and capabilities. I’m not going to get overly in-depth about the songs or anything just because there are only 6 of them. Another great thing about the EP is that it also includes four videos, 'Up For Sale', 'Capitalism Stole My Virginity', 'The Reproduction Of Death', 'Smash It Up', & an excerpt of Noam Chomsky speaking on the role of the United States as international terrorists. It is on Burning Heart Records who also have The Hives as well. The albums is very rock and roll but overflowing with anti-government and authority meshed inside of their catchy beat-nick poetry almost 1950’s café style but not really. Its hard to explain and I know this is probably making you think it sucks, just think a mix between The Hive and The Strokes. There that’s perfect that is exactly what they sound like.
Jeff’s Breakdown: Here’s the breakdown this is a cool EP if you want some of the music videos and some news songs to play in your car. Otherwise hold off on it or buy their last LP “New Morning, Changing Weather.”
