Moody Seatle Instrumentalists, Kinski EP 'Semaphore' is a refreshing take on instrumental rock. Drawing influences from Neu!, Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Can, and Mogwai, Kinski proves to be a contender of equal power.
'Semaphore' starts of with some delayed scatchy gutair with crying leads as drummer Dave Weeks, rides the high hat to an explosive gutair jam contained by Chris Martin and Matthew Reid Swartz. Bassist Lucy Atkinson holds the gasoline fueled music together with style and grace.
'Point That Thing Somewhere Else' is an edgy jam with vocals taken from sophmore album 'Be Gentle With The Warm Turtle' sessions.
'The Bunnies Are Tough' an interlude of washs of white noise, tribal drums, low bass noises, detuned gutairs.
Closing the EP is the dynamic eight mminute 'I Woudn't Hurt A Fly' which gently builds to explosive gutair jams then calmy winds down and picks up for the finale.
Kinski's song ochestrations are beautifully arranged, promising high hopes for the forthcoming album 'Airs Above Your Station.'
