This is the first release from the Mars Volta, with a full length coming soon (so I hear). The group consists of Omar (guitar) & Cedric (vocals) from At The Drive-In and Defacto fame. They've taken everything good that ATDI had and made it even better on this EP. They still have the heavy, emotional aspect, but put a bit of a psychedelic spin on it. The first track 'Cut that City' opens with a bit of drumming and explodes into fuckin' ROCK. The spanish influenced 'Corcertina'and lengthy 'Enuch Provocater,' both blew me away as well. These songs are produced by Alex Newport (Knapsack, ATDI, Icarus Line), who definitely brought a rawness to the recording. This is one of the best recordings that Omar & Cedric have put out to date.
