7 Tellaro Tellaro EP 2.nd rec | 2004 | EP Biography Comments (0) Read Full Page Digg Review Add del.icio.us   Tellaro is the best band from Sicily that I have ever heard.Tellaro is the only band from Sicily that I have ever heard.This three piece creates a low-fi music whose closest comparison might be Radiohead.This five song ep contains some very interesting music from a promising new group.The songs are mostly acoustic guitar based with light drumming and some interesting arrangements. The ep opens with "Puzzle In A Shell".This is probably the most Radiohead-like song.Maybe it's Francesco's voice or the mood of the song that makes me think of that other band. There are some nice sythesisizer and organ parts that really add to the song.At the end of the song-there's one of those fingers stuck in the strings guitar breaks.Nice touch."Adamalfio" opens with a building synth note.This leads into some acoustic guitar with drum machine/light jazzy drumming. This song has a very nice melody.My favorite song was "We're Gonna Ride". It begins with a cappella singing by Francesco.This is followed by nice kind of wave sound effect.The string samples are a  nice addition to the arrangement. The lyrics seem to be all in english and slightly buried in the mix.This helps the vocals sound a little more mysterious. If you are into a melodic and atmospheric alt-rock-Tellaro might be a band for you to search out.A fine band to listen to if you are waiting for the next Radiohead release. A promising first effort.
