The band meshes the guitar along with the clarinet, piano, trumpet and harmonica in an orchestrated funk collection of songs. The band consists of George Stanford lead vocals and guitar, Mark Smidt trumpet and percussion, Tim Sonnefeld vocals and bass, Nate Skiles vocals and guitar, Kevin Pride drums. The bands cohesive effort is very imaginative and reminiscent of old jazz favorites with its roots strapped to funk and reggae. The albums strong point is that it is well written and arranged. The songs are meaningful and its humble approach to life is strikingly euphoric with its everyday attitude and positive messages. “Working for Another Song” is probably the greatest example of their song writing capabilities and the mixture of reggae and catchy hooks while telling a story. The songs is so catchy and cool, it is almost as if your at a coffee bar and you hear a song like this over the PA. It’s just like this album can reflect how jazz can be cool if it’s just refigured. Another wonderful track “Chevy” that is another great story about a young man named Chevy who needs to figure out what he is doing in life. The songs’ hooks and its lyrics really make this another strong track to the already strong album. The breakdown of this album is basically if you are looking for something that’s pretty much good “chillin” music than this exactly what you looking for. Its very laid back and unthreatening it just fills the background with a light cheery atmosphere. This is definite must for you fans of jazz infusion and reggae soul.
