It is strange how bands can release one great album then seemingly have another album that is pure crap. I don’t mean to be this critical but just the title of the record asks that question. “Ass Cobra” is a poorly recorded album with no emphasis on vocals what so ever. This album was released before “Apocalypse Dudes” which was by far recorded in a much better studio. Turbonegro consists of lead vocalist Hank von Helvete, lead guitar Pal Pot Pamparius, bass Happy Tom, and Chris Summers on drums. This album really shows how much they evolve from playing bar chords and thrashy bass lines to solid composed songs.

There isn’t much on the album that I even want to go through the trouble of mentioning. I don’t feel there is one track that is worth mentioning but since it is my job to persuade, I will. “I Got Erection” is a song, and secondly is a terrible song. I can’t make out any of the lyrics and the music is just noise with screaming in the background. Along with that song being terrible “Hobbit Motherfuckers” is another terrible song. As well as “Turbonegro Hate The Kids” is another song that has no words because they are trampled under the noise which is the guitars and drums and everything else that is going on.

Alright lets get to the verdict. This album has nothing to offer the listener because it was recorded terribly. Theres no reason to even listen to it on mp3. It is just beyond help and it isn’t very artistic in my opinion. (Note: I used terrible 4 times!)
