It was a dark and stormy night in September... Ok - It was another mostly clear evening in Los Angeles, when The Wiltern Theatre hosted the enigmatic English comedian Eddie Izzard on his latest tour entitled "Sexie." This show, one of six sold out nights, definitely brings it home that; this is one comedian not to be trifled with -- especially in dashing 5" heels. The audience as well, was an interesting mix of everything from little old blue haired ladies to mohawk clad punks.
Eddie's comedic style rambles on from one odd topic to another, touching on interesting bits of trivia along the way. On this evening we learned about another breed of super-heros staring "Captain Transvestite" and the real fantastic four. He explained that "transvestites, much like actual super-heros have to change their clothes before they have their super-powers, except transvestites take much longer to get ready, but are very fashion cautious in their help when they arrive at the scene."
Other insights were offered on what to do...... if you are accidentally blown out of an airlock in space - "just look cool and have a smoke (that's not going to kill you) while you mystify the people watching you drift away. Only to put on your death mask when you are clean out of anyone's sight. Eddie also did a couple great impressions. Not the least being, of Christopher Walken being shot down in a chopper over Hanoi. And of course not to forget, "Where the hell did Balsamic Vinaigrette come from?" As Eddie explained, it was brought to Earth by a 15 fingered alien child, whom was the same 15 fingered alien child to be lit on fire towards the beginning of the evening by one of the fantastic four. Ahh, everything does come full circle...
