Norwegian electronica duo Royksopp, held the stage at Hollywood’s Henry Fonda Theatre, Wednesday March 5th. Opening a powerful set with the album opener 'So Easy.'
The hour set consisted of energetic performances of songs off their debut album 'Melody A.M.’ One Royksoppian, Svien Berge, banged on a half electric drum kit with real cymbals as Trbjorn Brundtland, played keys and programmed melodies, accompanied by a live bassist. The boys took turns singing through a vocal decoder box, twisting and turning their voices as the music blared.
I usually find my self bored at DJ or Electronica performances but they had me and the entire audience hopping and swaying to their finely crafted tunes.
Royksopp closed the set with 'Poor Leno,' performed with absence of Erlend Oye of King of Convience who lent his voice for the hit single. The Los Angeles, crowd went wild demanding more, Royksopp was pleased yelling 'Thank you LA, you are amazing' and then came out after much cheering and stomping to perform one final song.
