Watching a band play together that have energy, spirit and soul that shines into everyone in the crowd is a great life experience, and Tahiti 80 will offer just that….
The band opened with 'Yellow Butterfly' while I was getting a drink in the bar. I was already singing along whilst waiting for the bartender to open a bottle of wine, as she sucked on a lollypop in cut-off shorts. As soon as I made my way towards the stage I was feeling the warm sunshine Tahiti 80 was spewing out of their amps.
Pedro Resende (the bass player, percussionist, programmer, keyboardist, and vocalist.) was having a blast on stage, pointing to people and interacting with the crowd with a smile on his face and in his eyes.
Xavier Boyer (Lead vocalist, keyboardist, pianist, and bassist) was rocking out with his guitar, and then sitting down to play the keyboards, switching up with the bass and singing his lyrics beautifully to hip-shakers in the audience.
Mederic Gontier (guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist) was on the other side of the stage, and having a good time from what I could see...was he playing the French horn? Well, someone was...and it sounded like we were cruising on the Love Boat…
Sylvain Marchand (drummer, percussionist, keyboardist, and pianist) was mostly doing his drumming, but was bobbing away behind his keyboards as he felt the music he was making along side of his band mates.
They closed with an encore of 'Heartbeat'. Every one in the audience was singing along. It was cute.
It as fun… it was sweaty…. it was a sing-a-long fest of smiles and laughter and deep breaths
